Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport Ready to Offer Services during High Season

BANGKOK, Dec 20 (TNA) - With high expectations of a large number of foreign tourists arriving Thailand during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festival, Suvarnabhumi Airport has increased the amount of airport personnel and other facilities to cater the arrivals, said Sirote Duangratana, general manager of the airport. A large number of foreign tourists is expected to visit Thailand between October this year and next March, especially between December 25 – January 5, 2016 to celebrate Christmas and New Year festival in the kingdom, said Mr. Sirote. It is expected that more than 950 commercial flights and over 160,000 passengers would use services at the airport daily, he said. In order to facilitate passengers, a special service centre has been set up on the fourth floor of the departure lounge besides providing more personnel at the check-in and passport service counters. Mr. Sirote said Suvarnabhumi Airport has also installed 16 machines of common use self-service which could issue tickets for 15 airlines. Officials will be on hand to offer advices to passengers round-the-clock. Interpreters who are fluent in Chinese, Japanese, Russian and several other foreign languages are also available to offer advices to both arrival and departure passengers, he added. (TNA)
