Thailand and Israel signed an MoU on innovation

BANGKOK, July 27 (TNA) – Thailand and Israel have signed a memorandum of understanding on joint innovation promotion. The MoU was signed by representatives of Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (NIA) and Israel Innovation Authority (IIA). It was aimed at mutual support for innovations and exchange of innovative ideas among Thai and Israeli operators. Under the MoU, NIA and IIA will financially support operators in their countries in forming partnerships in innovative projects. Besides, Israel will share their models of innovative development with Thailand. The models concern support for world-class companies in establishing research centers together with local researchers and academics in Israel, funds for innovation, and marketing campaigns and technological access for innovative startups and businesses. IIA chairman Ami Applebaum said digital societies were growing rapidly, so technological investment must be emphasized. He hoped both countries would benefit from the cooperation. NIA executive director Pun-Arj Chairatana said Thai operators would learn about Israeli technologies, especially those related to agricultural and food innovations, cyber security and Internet of Things.
