Thailand to become Asia’s fashion hub

BANGKOK, November 7 (TNA) - Thailand’s Ministry of Industry and private sector have discussed on developing the Kingdom to become a fashion hub in Asia in the foreseeable future. The discussion was held in Bangkok on Thursday at the 2nd Fashion Industry Development Project Organizing Committee Meeting, during which participants also raised their proposed ideas on the development of Thailand’s fashion industry on the sustainable basis, with Thai fashion products displayed worldwide. Suphap Kleekachai, Advisor to the Industry Minister, told reporters that the private sector, which has potential and understand global market trends and demands, especially for quality Thai fashion products competitive on the world market, has cooperated by joining in the committee. Suphap promised the public sector will give full support to the private sector's proposals on relevant issues, namely tax, raw materials and export management. As part of the national goal, aimed to also earn more national income, the advisor said, a grand fashion fair will be organized next month to showcase a large collection of Thai fashion products developed by professionals in the industry.
