Thailand Construction Expo to be held in Bhutan

BANGKOK, February 9 (TNA) - The Thailand Construction Expo will be held in the Bhutanese capital of Thimphu between September – October this year, aimed at boosting trade and investment on construction industry in that country by Thai businessmen, said Chakporn Oonjitt, director of Construction Institute of Thailand. Mr. Chakporn said a group of Thai architecture, engineer, producers of construction materials, machinery, chemical, furniture, hotel and property operators will pay a five-day visit, starting April 22, to Bhutan to conduct a market survey and investment climate in that country. The planned trip and the organizing the exposition in Bhutan comes after more than 30 Bhutanese construction operators visited Thailand recently, said Witoon Simachokedee, permanent secretary for Industry. During the visit, they had inspected Thai construction technology and invited Thai entrepreneurs to invest in Bhutan after finding that the Thais have experience in this industry, Mr. Witoon said.
