Thailand constructs new Parliament building

BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) - Parliament President and House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont, Senate President Nikom Wairatpanich and members of parliament on Tuesday witnessed the signing ceremony of a construction contract for Thailand's new Parliament building in Bangkok. The new Thai Parliament building and its quarters will then be soon constructed on a 123-rai state property on Taharn Road near the Kiak Kai Intersection in the capital's Dusit district. The building is set to be a beautiful architecture with modern facilities to cater for efficient operations of the Parliament. The construction contract was signed by Secreatary-General of the Thai House of Representatives Suwijak Nakwatcharachai with Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited, under a budget of 12.28 billion baht. The construction of the new Thai Parliament building is scheduled to be complete within 900 days. (TNA)
