Thailand contains diseases in rainy season

BANGKOK, August 6 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Interior has ordered district chiefs nationwide to cooperate with public health officials in their respective areas to fight diseases in the current rainy season. Kritsada Boonrat, Director-General of the ministry's Department of Provincial Administration, told journalists on Wednesday that he has made the order, as there have been several casualties from seasonal diseases or illnesses currently, including dengue fever, diarrhea and hand, foot and mouth. Kritsada also suggested that, as a solution, public relations campaigns be launched at childcare centres, industrial factories and local communities to educate people on how to prevent and cope with the seasonal diseases and illnesses. According to the senior official, he has also instructed district chiefs to work together with local hospitals to send mobile medical units to serve villagers, including patients, in remote areas.
