Thailand Health & Wellness Tourism Showcase 2015 to be held in September

BANGKOK, August 28 (TNA) -- Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will organise Thailand Health & Wellness Tourism Showcase 2015, scheduled for 14-17 September. TAT Deputy Governor for Goods and Tourism Division Wilaiwan Twitsri said on Friday that Thailand Health & Wellness Tourism Showcase 2015 aims to show the country’s potential as the world's leading market for medical tourism. This year’s Thailand Health & Wellness Tourism Showcase will focus on Thailand’s strong points of medical tourism, namely beauty services, anti-aging medicine as well as health and nutritional supplements. Other activities at the event will include business meetings, displays of herbs and their health benefits and health check-ups. Ms Wilaiwan told reporters that Thailand’s medical tourism sector generates about 140 billion baht per year, adding the industry is expected to grow higher than 10 percent, mainly due to the trend in health and wellness. Besides the Middle East, Thailand’s major market, TAT has also planned to open its market in China and Russia, Wilaiwan said. The Thailand Health &Wellness Tourism Showcase 2015 will be held on 14-17 September at Plaza Athenee Hotel in Bangkok. (END)
