Thailand help women lured to be prostitude in Malaysia

BANGKOK, Oct 16 (TNA) -- Thai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is urgently providing assistance to Thai women who have been lured to Malaysia for work, but was forced into prostitution, as well as coordinating with the Malaysian government to provide help to the rest of the victims facing similar fates. Minister of Social Development and Human Security Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaeo said the ministry has been previously informed by the relatives of the victims that 5 Thai women were lured into Malaysia for work and have been forced into prostitution. The ministry had then contacted the Interior and Foreign Affairs ministries to provide assistance to the victims, after which 3 out of 5 victims were rescued, and have been put under the care of the One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) 1300, said the minister. He added that the victims would now be questioned by police of whether or not they were really tricked into prostitution. If it is proven that they were victims to human trafficker, the ministry would be providing compensations from its human trafficking protection fund to the victims. As for the other two Thai females who had not yet been rescued from the heinous act, Pol Gen Adul said the ministry has been in contact with the Malaysian government, which has provided full cooperation on the matter, to speed up the assistance to get the two victims back home.
