Thailand Hosts Dental Meeting of International Defence Forces

BANGKOK, Sept 20 (TNA) - About 300 dentists of defence forces from 27 countries held their annual meeting for the first time in Thailand, enabling them to exchange dentistry knowledge and strengthening cooperation between the participating countries. Presiding over the opening ceremony of the annual World Dental Congress at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall was Deputy Defence Minister and also Army Commander-in-Chief General Udomdej Sitabutr who told the participants that the Royal Thai Army founded dentistry services for the Thai armed forces in the kingdom. The meeting will give an opportunity to the participants to exchange knowledge on dentistry and innovation in the field as well as strengthening cooperation among the armed forces, said Gen. Udomdej. Thailand is hosting the meeting for the first time and major issues which would be discussed include threats, including from nature, new diseases and terrorism. Medical cooperation is, therefore, essential between countries. (TNA)
