Thailand joins 10th AMMTC in Malaysia

BANGKOK, September 30 (TNA) - Thailand participates in the 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (10th AMMTC) and a related forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital. Deputy Interior Minister Sutee Markboon has led a Thai delegation in attending the 10th AMMTC and the Special ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Rise of Radicalization and Violent Extremism in the Malaysian capital during September 28-October 2, 2015. Before the opening of the biennial AMMTC, Sutee led the Thai delegation to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, during which the Thai delegation said Thailand had proposed AMMTC to include illegal trade in wildlife and wood in the list of the transnational crime that member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) would jointly tackle. On the occasion, participants signed Kuala Lumpur communiqués on irregular migration in Southeast Asia and the suppression of transnational crime to pave the way for regional actions. (TNA)
