Thailand launches NLIC

BANGKOK, July 12 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Labour has launched the National Labour Information Centre (NLIC) to serve as a one-stop labour services for workers, employers, the unemployed and the general public nationwide. Deputy Permanent Secretary for Labour Poonsak Settanan held a press conference in Bangkok on Friday to announce the launch of the NLIC. Poonsak acknowledged that the NLIC, jointly developed by his ministry's all five departments, serves as an online one-stop labour services for the public, through the [http://nlic.mol.go.th] website. The comprehensive labour information available on the NLIC website, with updates and accuracy, include job positions and other relevant information for people seeking employment, namely labour laws and welfare benefits, market directions, labour demand evaluations, unemployment rates in Thailand, as well as the ratio of Thai labour inside and outside of the country. According to the senior official, his Labour Ministry has also inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with relevant agencies, including the Ministries of Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Education, Commerce and Interior on information exchange comprehensively, covering labour demand and available job positions.
