The book, introduced on September 22 by Director-General of the ministry's Department of Medical Services Dr. Suphan Srithamma, is aimed to serve as an official and reliable reference for doctors, other medical personnel, policy makers and even the general public on the major 17 recorded health issues, representing the contemporary public health situation in Thailand. The book can also be used as an official knowledge-based information toward the further development of the Thai medicine and public health in the future. Dr. Choosna Makarasara, Chief Advisor to the Department of Medical Services and Editor of the book, told journalists that the major diseases and health conditions recorded in the book include communicable and non-communicable diseases, emergency medical issues and public health services during natural disasters.
