Thailand observes Constitution Day

BANGKOK, December 10 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has led his Cabinet members, as well as representatives from public and private agencies, political parties, the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) and the National Reform Council (NRC) to pay respect to the statue of His Majesty King Rama VII, who bestowed Thailand's first Constitution 82 years ago. The ceremony was held at the Parliament building in Bangkok on Wednesday morning, marking Thailand's Constitution Day and showing the Thai people's gratitude to the 7th Thai monarch in the present Chakri Dynasty. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is scheduled to pay respect to the statue of His Majesty King Rama VII at the Parliament building on Wednesday afternoon, on behalf of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is also scheduled to then preside over a Buddhist merit making ceremony at nearby Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall to pay tribute to His Majesty King Rama VII.
