Thailand observes International Day of Yoga

BANGKOK, June 26 (TNA) - Thailand on Sunday observed the International Day of Yoga, organised annually for the second time. Indian ambassador to Thailand Blagwant Singh Bishnoi and Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul jointly presided over the opening of the International Day of Yoga, held under the concept of ‘Yoga for Harmony and Peace’ at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University. Ambassador Bishnoi said during the opening that the event was organised to promote Yoga, originated in India. It could help strengthen relations between the two countries He said Yoga could help balance the body and the mind. The event is held in several countries in the world. Member countries of the United Nations voted in 2014 to declare June 21st the International Day of Yoga. (TNA)
