Thailand Pavilion rated top five at World Expo 2015

BANGKOK, October 29 (TNA) - The government is pleased with the success of "Thailand Pavilion" participating in the World Expo 2015, organised in Milan, Italy, from May 1 to October 31, as it has drawn more than two million international visitors and sold over 1.2 million euros (about 49 million baht) of Thai farm products totally so far. Government Spokesman Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd told journalists on Thursday that the "Thailand Pavilion" presents the concept of "Nourishing and Delighting the World" and it has been rated one of the top five most popular pavilions at the world fair, among 145 nations which are participating in the Milan expo. The spokesman said the "Thailand Pavilion" displays the country’s potential in abundant agricultural products and readiness to become a "Kitchen of the World". According to the spokesman, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has promised that his government will continue to improve the livelihood of Thai farmers, strengthen food security and increase the value of Thai farm products after learning of Thailand’s success at the World Expo 2015. The spokesman stressed that the success displays Thailand’s potential, especially in the key agricultural sector, which has mainly generated national income, echoing that the government has attached importance to further developing and promoting exports of Thai agricultural products and food in order to boost the national competitiveness, paving the way for the Kingdom to become a leading farm market in ASEAN and in the world in the future.
