Thailand prepares for global changes

BANGKOK, September 21 (TNA) - Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says that her government has prepared four strategic programmes to cope with global economic changes. Speaking during her weekly TV and radio programme on Saturday (Sept 21) morning, Yingluck told the public that the four strategic programmes include boosting Thailand’s competitiveness covering her administration's planned mega-investment of 2.2 trillion baht, improving people’s quality of life and reducing inequality, promoting environmentally-friendly national economic growth and creating a balance in the public sector through utilizing innovative technologies to address malpractices or corruption. The prime minister acknowledged that the four strategic programmes were resolved at the annual meeting of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB), held recently, aimed at preparing the Thai economy to keep pace with and to cope with considerably global economic changes currently.
