Thailand prepares for Tropical Storm Mujigae

BANGKOK, Oct 4 (TNA) Army personnel on Sunday prepare to assist people in northeastern Thailand who would be impacted from Tropical Storm Mujigae if it brings heavy rain in the north and northeast. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that the tropical storm would bring heavy downpours for three days, starting Sunday, to northern and northeastern provinces. Tropical Storm Mujigae earlier brought heavy rainfall to northern Philippines and is expected to land on southern China and northern Vietnam from today. Second Army Region Commander Lt. Gen.Thawat Suk-plang, who is responsible for security affairs in northeastern region, on Sunday inspected a disaster relief centre in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima. He told journalists that he had dispatched soldiers to build sand embankment and also inspected water drainage system at Maharaj Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima to prevent flooding if the tropical storm hits the province.(TNA)
