Thailand to promote Sufficiency Economy Philosophy among G77 members

BANGKOK, October 13 (TNA) - Thailand, as the new chair of Group of 77 (G77) next year, plans to promote the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, advised by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, among member economies of G77. Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai told journalists on October 12 that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has assigned his Foreign Affairs Ministry to play a major role while representing Thailand as the G77 chair. Don said he discussed with Chinese government leaders during his recent visit to China how Thailand could strengthen relations with G77 members and found that the relations could be strengthened in several ways, including through diplomatic channels and sustainable development programmes. Don acknowledged that his ministry hopes to publicise the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to G77 members as it should be applied in daily life of people. Thailand was voted at a G77 ministerial meeting earlier this year as the G77 chair in 2016. (TNA)
