Thailand sees 9.1 pct rise in exports to Cambodia in 2014 H1

BANGKOK, August 10 (TNA) - Bilateral Trade between Thailand and neighboring Cambodia improved in the first six months of this year, according to a Thai commercial officer. Jiranan Wongmongkol, Director of the Thai International Trade Promotion Office in Phom Penh, said Sunday Thailand exports to Cambodia during the first half of this year rose 9.1 percent year on year to reach 2.34 billion US dollar or 75.69 billion baht. Thailand’s main exports to China included petroleum, gems and jewelries, beverages, construction mistrials, sugar, cosmetics, soaps and skin care products, and vehicles and parts. Jiranan said Cambodia’s imports from Thailand during the period climbed 59 percent year on year to 257 million US dollar with key items being electric machinery and parts, agricultural products, cable wires, ores and irons, garments, and shoes.
