Thailand Tourism Festival 2013 set on June 5-9

BANGKOK, May 29 (TNA) - The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will organize "Thailand Tourism Festival 2013", themed "Falling in Love With Thailand", at Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok from June 5-9, foreseen to draw about 200,000 international visitors and to generate up to some 300 million baht tourism-related revenues. TAT Deputy Governor Thawatchai Aranyik told journalists on Tuesday that the "Thailand Tourism Festival 2013" is part of the government's policy on promoting Thailand as a regional tourism hub in the lead-up to the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), scheduled to be formed by 2015. Thawatchai said the uniqueness of Thailand’s all five regions will be showcased at the five-day fair, namely Lanna cultures and naturally-charming forests in the Thai North and a variety of tourist attractions in the central region such as temple fairs and folk arts and cultures. According to the TAT deputy governor, a tourism seminar in which participants will be provided with information and knowledge on popular tourism trends and a platform on tourism business negotiations will also be organized as part of the upcoming "Thailand Tourism Festival 2013".
