Thailand warned of Tropical Storm Gaemi

BANGKOK, October 2 (TNA) - Thai Meteorological Department announced Tuesday that more heavy downpours, influenced by the tropical storm Gaemi, would hit the country by the end of the week. According to the Thai weather agency, Tropical Storm Gaemi, which is now centred in Vietnam and has not yet affected Thailand, would move into the lower part of Lao PDR, as well as the eastern and middle regions of Thailand by October 6-7, while the south western monsoon would strengthen over the Andaman Sea, southern region and the Gulf of Thailand. The department said these would lead to heavy downpours in all regions of Thailand, and cause strong winds and high waves of two to three metres high in the northern part of the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea.
