Thailand's competitiveness ranked world's 27th

BANGKOK, September 11 (TNA) - The Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD) has ranked Thailand's competitiveness at the world's 27th, out of 60 countries. Teeranun Srihong, President of Bangkok-based Kasikorn Bank (KBank), told journalists of the IMD's latest survey and ranking on Wednesday, acknowledging that Thailand's latest competitiveness status remains the same. Compared with other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Teeranun said Thailand has been ranked the 3rd, after Singapore and Malaysia, for insufficient infrastructure development. According to the KBank president, the private sector wants the Thai government to quickly invest in infrastructure, product and human resource development to prevent Thailand from being ranked lower in terms of business competitiveness.
