Thailand's Government Complex reopened

BANGKOK, February 4 (TNA) - Officials of many ministries have returned to their offices after the Government Complex on Chaeng Wattana Road in Bangkok was reopened on Tuesday morning, following an over three-week blockage by anti-government protesters. Government officials and employees of six agencies under the Ministry of Justice, for instance, could enter their offices on Tuesday morning. Deputy Permanent Secretary for justice Tawatchai Thaikhyo earlier successfully convinced a protest leader, Luang Pu Buddha Issara, of the reopening of the Government Complex on the condition that officials work from 8.30am-6pm only on weekdays and show ID cards officially issued by the Ministry of Justice. Officials also returned to their offices in the Ministry of Labour, where their services had dropped by 20-35 per cent when they had to work elsewhere during the past siege by anti-government protesters.(TNA)
