Thailand's interim government to present policies in 11 areas to NLA

BANGKOK, September 11 (TNA) - Thailand's interim government of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha will present policies concerning 11 areas to the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) on September 12, 2014. General Prayuth told journalists on Thursday that his administration's policies emphasize on sufficiency economy, educational reform and peace-restoration in the violence-plagued Thai deep South. General Prayuth said that his government's policies also adhere to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's guidelines on understanding, access to and development of people. According to the prime minister, the first area of his government's policies concerns the royal institution with the administration to tackle those offending it. The second area on national security will focus on border solutions, marine security, transnational crime and peace restoration in the Thai far South. In the third area, his government will reduce social inequality and increase people's access to public services. The fourth area will see the development of education, religions, arts and cultures and the promotion of Thailand's identities. The fifth area will focus on the improvement of public health and health services. The sixth area will be the economic development of the country. The seventh area will concern the competitiveness enhancement of Thailand and local business operators at all levels in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The eighth area will promote the application of science, technology, research and innovation. The ninth area will cover attempts to protect resources and realize conservation and sustainable exploitation. The 10th area will promote good governance and tackle corruption in the public sector. The 11th area will be the improvement of the Thai justice system and laws to modernize them and eradicate obstacles to national administration. (TNA)
