Thailand's mobile Cabinet meeting kicks off in Hua Hin

BANGKOK, March 27 (TNA) - The Thai Cabinet has started its mobile meeting in seaside Hua Hin resort of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, chaired by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, amid tight security measures. The two-day mobile Cabinet meeting, the first of its kind of Prime Minister General Prayut's administration, began on Friday afternoon at an army rehabilitation centre. Before the mobile Cabinet meeting started, the prime minister, accompanied by Interior Minister General Anupong Paochinda, Commerce Minister General Chatchai Sarikulya and Deputy Defence Minister General Udomdej Sitabutr, who is also Army Chief, visited a fresh market, considered a landmark in Hua Hin, where food vendors were asked about the costs of their products and urged not to hike prices as it would affect consumers. The prime minister later inspected the tidiness at Hua Hin beach and talked to local fishermen, food vendors and hotel operators to share views on his government’s policies. According to National Police Chief Police General Somyot Pumpunmuang, combined 2,900 police and army personnel have been deployed in Hua Hin during the mobile Cabinet meeting, set from March 27-28.
