SAMUT PRAKAN, THAILAND, January 6 (TNA) - Caretaker Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has opened a store selling Thailand's community-based products under the government-supported One Tambon, One Product (OTOP) Program, at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, aimed at serving international visitors. The new OTOP Store Modern Thailand at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok's neighbouring Samut Prakan Province, opened by the caretaker prime minister at 9am on January 6, 2014, consists of two outlets on the eastern and western sides of the airport's passenger terminal. Available at the OTOP store are premium products selected from outstanding OTOPs throughout Thailand. The Thai government, in cooperation with the private sector, plans to open more OTOP shops at other airports in the country. On the occasion, the caretaker prime minister said Thailand's OTOP sales totaled 86 billion baht last year, including their export value of 10 billion baht, expressing her hope that the OTOP Store Modern Thailand at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport will provide Thai and foreign travelers with easier access to quality products from all Thai regions.(TNA)
