Thailand's preparations for AC

BANGKOK, November 22 (TNA) - Thailand needs to build sustainable strength and prepares human resources, including language skills, so that the Kingdom can compete with neighbouring member countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as the ASEAN Community (AC) will be formed by the end of 2015. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha made the recommendation during his weekly address on Friday night, noting that the strength and preparation are also needed for the Thai economy to compete with rapidly-developed global economies. The prime minister said that the Thai government needs to also lay out measures to help facilitate foreign trade and investment. As the world community is taking about future visions for the years 2015, 2025 and 2035, the prime minister suggested as well that Thailand study and make plans in order to move the country forward on a long-term basis. The Thai leader went on to say that the United Nations has declared every November 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" and Thailand has made November of every year the month to stop using violence against children and women, saying that he wants to include the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWDs) into this important day, as a strong society should not look down against women and children or whatsoever because it will create injustice in the society.#END
