Thailand's southern resort province eyes to become world top health holiday destination

RANONG, THAILAND, April 18 (TNA) - Ranong, a southern Thai resort province, has eyed to become a world top health tourist destination in the foreseeable future, with its 4S strategies having been mapped out. Ranong Governor Acting Second Lieutenant Cherdsak Champatet told reporters of the plan, saying that his province's 4S strategies include Spa, Services of Alternative Medicine, Security and Safe Food. For Spa and Services of Alternative Medicine, the governor revealed, Ranong plans to become a world wellness hub for health promotion and rehabilitation, which can be linked with the provincial health tourism potential through Thai alternative medicine. For Security and Safe Food, the provincial governor elaborated, Ranong will provide all people in the province, both locals and international visitors, with health insurance for the sake of their equal access to mecial services, so will their equal access to safe food. According to the governor, although Ranong is a small province, it is listed among countries with the world's best mineral water sources and it has potential to achieve the ambitious goal of becoming one of the world's leading health tourism destination, backed by Thailand's strength in modern public health services with global recognition, and its geological advantage linking Ranong with other southern Thai provinces and even other coastal countries along the Andaman Sea, namely Myanmar's Kawthaung Township, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Pakistan.(TNA)
