Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport remains on world top five list

BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) - Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport has been maintained on the world's top five list in terms of best airports serving up to 40-50 million international passengers annually. Suvarnabhumi International Airport Director Sirote Duangrat told journalists on March 24 that SKYTRAX, a world top airports rating agency, announced on March 16 its rating results of outstanding global airports in 2016, or “SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2016”, in which Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport was ranked in the 5th place for the world's best airports in the category of serving up to 40-50 million international passengers annually. Sirote said other world top four airports in the same category include South Korea's Incheon International Airport, Germany's Munich International Airport, Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Spain's Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport respectively. Sirote noted that Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) was also ranked the 36th place among the world's top 100 airports by SKYTRAX, rising 11 places from last year's ranking at the 47th. The Suvarnabhumi Airport director acknowledged that AOT was also ranked the world's top 10th in the category of the "Best Airports Staff in Asia". According to the Suvarnabhumi Airport director, SKYTRAX invited more than 13.25 million air passengers worldwide to vote for their favourite airports, from a total of 550 global airports, via the [www.worldairportsurvey.com]website and through its phone surveys during June 2015-early 2016, the results of which were then used for its ratings.
