Thailand's tyre warehouses destroyed by strong fire, no casualties reported

CHONBURI, THAILAND, February 2 (TNA) - Firefighters have put a strong fire raging six tyre warehouses at an industrial estate in the Thai East on Sunday night under control, with no casualties reported. Concerned authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which has totally destroyed the six tyre warehouses, owned by LLIT (Thailand) Co.,Ltd., located in the Hemaraj Industrial Estate in Sriracha area of Chonburi Province. The authorities initially estimated on Monday morning that total damage should be at least 100 million baht, as about one million tyres have been destroyed. Although firefighters brought the strong blaze under control, they have continued dousing the area to prevent the fire from reigniting as smoke was still billowing from the burnt buildings. Authorities confirmed that there were no people killed or serious injured from the fire, but a few people who suffered from inhaling the smoke was sent to a nearby hospital without any serious condition.
