Thailand's yellow-clad leaders face charges

BANGKOK, March 10 (TNA) - Core leaders of Thailand's yellow-clad People's Alliance for Decocracy (PAD) have faced charges for violating the state of emergency in February 2011, enforced by the previous Democrat Party-led government of former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. Public prosecutors filed the charges against 10 PAD core leaders on Tuesday, saying that their demonstration at the Chamai Maruchet Bridge on Bangkok's Rajadamnoen Avenue in February 2011 breached the state of emergency. The 10 PAD leaders include Sondhi Limthongkul, Chamlong Srimuang, Pipop Thongchai and Suriyasai Katasila. All the PAD core leaders were, however, temporarily released on bail. (TNA)
