Thais celebrate HM the King’s 88th birthday

BANGKOK, Dec 5 (TNA) - Thais throughout the country on Saturday celebrated their beloved His Majesty the King’s 88th birthday. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha and his wife led yellow-shirted cabinet ministers, civil servants and people from all walks of life to offer alms to 289 Buddhist monks at Bangkok’s Sanam Luang. Gen. Prayut and his wife later signed the book at the Grand Palace, wishing His Majesty the King good health. In the eastern province of Chon Buri. Vice Admiral Thanakarn Kraikruan, commander of the Royal Thai Marine Corps, along with government officials and people chanted the royal anthem in front of the King’s portrait at the Royal Thai Navy base in Sattahip district. They later released marine life into the sea to make merit and mark His Majesty the King’s birthday. (TNA)
