Thais counting down to Lin Hui’s second baby panda

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, January 6 (TNA) - A team of veterinarians at Chiang Mai Zoo in the Thai North has been prepared for the delivery of a new baby panda, the second to be born in Thailand, expectedly, within a few days. The zoo's veterinarians have adjusted the light inside the room, where Lin Hui, the pregnant panda, will soon give birth and arranged an area for her to take care of her new cub. The veterinarians have also installed cameras to record the moment the new baby panda is born. A closed circuit television camera showed on Monay that Lin Hui had signs of being about to give birth to her second baby panda. Kanchai Sanwong, Director of Chiang Mai Zoo, earlier told journalists that Lin Hui, having been pregnant after her second artificial insemination last year, now appears perfectly healthy, namely eating and behaving normally. Chiang Mai Zoo's only panda couple, Xuang Xuang and Lin Hui, both loaned from China as animal friendship ambassadors to Thailand, gave birth to their first female panda cub, "Lin Ping", through the artificial insemination on May 27, 2009. Lin Ping was then sent back to China for mating late last year. (TNA)
