Thais enjoy visa-free travels to Myanmar

BANGKOK, August 10 (TNA) - Thai people will enjoy their 14-day visa-free air travels to Myanmar as of August 11, 2015. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the new Myanmar policy on Monday. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Tanasak Patimaprakorn told journalists that, given the new 14-day visa-waiver policy, Thai citizens are allowed to enter Myanmar through three international airports, including Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mantalay International Airports, and legally stay in the neighbouring country for up to 14 days. Regarding a policy on issuing multiple-entry visa for international tourists who frequently travel in and out of Thailand, the Thai deputy prime minister and foreign minister revealed that the Thai Ministry of Interior issued a ministerial regulation earlier in the day, stating that concerned authorities must always take national security into account before approving the multiple-entry visa to any international visitor.
