BANGKOK, May 25 (TNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok has advised Thai people in Japan, including tourists, to closely follow up updated news reports on a fresh earthquake which jolted Kanto Region on Monday afternoon (local time). Thai Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sek Wannamethee, who is also Director-General of the ministry's Department of Information, told journalists, quoting the Thai Embassy in Tokyo as saying, that the fresh 5.6-magnitude quake happened at 2:28pm (local time) in Kanto's Saitama Prefecture, which is situated in the Northeast of Tokyo. According to the spokesman, the tremor was also felt by people in the vicinity, including those in the Ibaraki, Chiba and Kanagawa Prefectures. The spokesman stated that there was no warning of a tsunami, advising, however, that Thai nationals in Japan to closely follow up updates of the fresh quake.
