Thais in UAE warned not to talk about "sensitive issue"

BANGKOK, June 9 (TNA) - Thai nationals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are warned not to talk or share their opinions on any sensitive issue among their social networks. The Thai Embassy to UAE has posted on its official website the warning, issued by the UAE government. The official statement warned Thai people not to particularly talk or voice their views on a recent decision of UAE and many other Gulf states to severe diplomatic relations with Qatar, cautioning that violators will be each fined up to 500,000 dirham (about five million baht) and may also face a jail term of 3-15 years. According to the official statement, the warning is applied to all people living in UAE. (TNA)
