Thais warned to well-manage times during FIFA World Cup

BANGKOK, June 12 (TNA) - The Ministry of Labour suggests that workers in Thailand manage their times well during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Russia during June 14-July 15, to avoid undesirable incidents at workplaces or disciplinary penalties imposed by their employers. Ananchai Uthaipatanacheep, Director-General of the ministry's Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, voiced his suggestion on Tuesday, assessing that, like other countries, there should be a number of FIFA World Cup fans in Thailand who may, therefore, go to bed very late or sleep less more frequently during the upcoming one-month FIFA World Cup fever. The senior official stressed that workers, especially those working with machines or vehicles, should well-manage their times appropriately so that they could sleep and take a rest sufficiently in order to prevent and avoid accidents or other undesirable incidents at their workplaces, including disciplinary penalties to be, probably, imposed by their employers for their late coming or any unreasonable absence from work. The senior official, meanwhile, sought his cooperation from employers to watch out and take care of their workers more closely during the one-month 2018 FIFA World Cup fever period, covering a strict ban on any World Cup gambling at their workplaces.(TNA)
