Thankful party for Moo Paa rescuers on Sept 6

BANGKOK, Aug 17 (TNA) -- The government plans to host a party at the Royal Plaza in Bangkok on Sept 6 to express gratitude towards the rescuers who saved young footballers and their coach of the Moo Paa Academy team from Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai province. Prime Minister’s Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana said the “United as One” party was set from 6pm to 9pm on Sept 6 after being postponed from Aug 1. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn granted permission for the government to use the Royal Plaza as the party venue and would also supply foods to participants, the minister said. There would also be a concert and other performances on stage. They would refer to collaboration and unity among local and international parties who participated in the rescue mission without any racial and religious discrimination, he said. The party would focus on cost-effectiveness and simplicity, Mr Suwaphan said. The government prepared accommodations for about 61,000 participants from 53 provinces plus about 300 foreigners living both in the country and abroad and a large number of journalists. Concerned officials would discuss the details of the event on Aug 29, the minister said. (TNA)
