Theatre can promote culture of resistance: official

Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA – 'The culture of resistance can only be promoted in Iran, with collective will, spirit and thoughts of the Sacred Defense and the Islamic Revolution’s martyrs and expand them in the society', head of Artists’ Basij Organization said on Wednesday. “According to statements of the (Late) Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the memories of the martyrs should remain alive and must indeed be considered in the cultural and artistic fields”, Hussein Qanadian added during the commemoration of Iran’s theatre martyrs. “Holding the specialized congress of artist martyrs, is an effective step aimed to fulfill the goal. Following the event we can welcome the nationwide congress of 2000 artist martyrs which will be the result of eight other confabs held in photography, theatre, calligraphy, film, music, poetry and fiction”, he added. Theatre is an impressive and significant field to convey the supreme concepts of humanity and its capacities can be used for the purpose”, Qanadian underlined. Elsewhere he added that the congress of 450 Theatre martyrs ended in the city of Ardebil on Wednesday in which martyrs Huseein Qashqaei and Masoud Soheili were honored as noted theatre martyrs./end
