Thirty four couples join Underwater Wedding Ceremony in Thailand

TRANG, February 11 (TNA) - Thirty four couples were set to tie their knots in an annual underwater mass wedding off the coast of Thailand's southern resort Trang Province Saturday, marking Saint Valentine's Day 2012, on February 14. The 16th anniversary of the Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony was organized by the Provincial administration, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Trang’s Chamber of Commerce. A crowd of about 500 people welcomed the 34 couples at the Trang Airport on Friday. Six pairs planned to register their marriage with official registrar off Kradan Island and they would then join the rest in romantic activities at various picturesque locations. The Trang Underwater Wedding was inaugurated 16 years ago to fulfill the dream of lovers by arranging the traditional Thai wedding ceremony during the Valentine's Day celebration period. (TNA)
