Thousand engineering students to study in Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Under cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and JICA, thousand Mongolian students will be involved in educational programs in Japan. The National Security Council Wednesday authorized the Economic Development Minister N.Batbayar to conclude a pact on the above matter with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). This high educational program will be implemented within a project of "Engineering and Technological High Education", which is coming about under a mid-term program of the strategic partnership of Mongolia and Japan. The project aims at improved curriculum for technical faculties of Mongolian universities and enhanced skills of teachers there. The project will be carried out within nine years, under cost of USD 75 million. Major construction projects such as a metro in Ulaanbaatar and airport in Hoshigt valley will greatly benefit from students who earn engineering skills and technical knowledge under this joint educational project.
