Three Australian Tourists Hurt After Car Plunges Into Ravine

KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), March 18 (Bernama) -- Three Australian tourists were hurt, with one in serious condition, when the car they were in plunged into a ravine in a village near here Tuesday afternoon. Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief ACP M Chandra said the tourist who was badly injured was a man, aged 47, while the other two who were slightly injured were a woman, aged 39, and a 15-year-old boy. Also seriously injured in the 3.50pm incident was the driver of the car, a 44-year-old woman. All the victims (names were not immediately available) were sent to the Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital for treatment. Initial investigations found that the driver lost control of the car which was travelling from Kiulu to Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of the east Malaysian State of Sabah, before it plunged into the ravine. -- BERNAMA
