Three Foreign Ambassadors Present Credentials To S'pore President

SINGAPORE, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Three foreign Ambassadors presented their credentials to President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam in separate ceremonies held at the Istana Thursday. The three are the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, Bansarn Bunnag, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullah Hasan Salih and the Ambassador of the Republic of Congo, Daniel Owassa, said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here Thursday. Bunnag, 55, is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Republic of Singapore effective today. He first started his career in 1983 as a Policy and Planning Analysis Officer, National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB). Prior to his appointment here, Bunnag was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Republic of Poland from 2012. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Attaché, Office of the Director-General, ASEAN-Thailand in 1984 and also served as Minister, Royal Thai Embassy, London in 2003. Abdullah, 60, who started his career as an Interpreter, Defence Magazine of Army Flight in 1978, has served as Ambassador to Indonesia, Ambassador to ASEAN before his posting here. Meanwhile, Owassa, 56, who started his career as a diplomat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984, formerly served as Diplomatic Advisor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador to China. -- BERNAMA
