Three million people to benefit from ERC programmes during Ramadan

ABU DHABI, 24th May, 2016 (WAM) – Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has announced that three million people across the UAE and in 63 countries worldwide would benefit from its Ramadan programmes, including Iftar, Zakat, Eid clothing and Mir Ramadan. This was announced at a press conference held today at the ERC headquarters in Abu Dhabi to launch the sessions for the Holy Month of Ramadan to mobilise support for the disadvantaged categories nationwide and abroad. It was attended by deputies of the ERC secretary-general, directors of ERC departments and heads of sections. The ERC said this year's campaign will be more comprehensive to keep pace with expansion in humanitarian and development projects. Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, ERC's deputy secretary-general for local affairs, said the Ramadan programmes this year, "aims at strengthening communication in the UAE community and boosting partnerships to support the ERC programmes locally and abroad."
