Thunderbolts kill 46 Thais between 2007-2012

BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) - Lighting strikes had killed 46 people in Thailand from 2007-2012, said Public Health Minister Pradit Sintavanarong on Friday. Pradit said besides the dead, thunderbolts also injured 180 others during the same period, or an average of 36 people per year. Pradit said lightning strikes could be avoided by staying indoors, not wearing objects that attract lightning such as gold, silver and copper, and not staying near high objects such as tree, electricity poll or billboard, when there are torrential rains.
