Timur Pradopo Hands Over Responsibilities To Sutarman

Jakarta, Oct 28 (Antara) - National police chief General Timur Pradopo handed over a report on his responsibilities and working programs to Commissioner General Sutarman, who is scheduled to replace him here on Monday. "In essence, I handed over responsibilities to the new chief," Timur said during a ceremony at the National Police Headquarters. He noted that he had formally reported all his working programs and tasks that have been, or still need, to be completed. "Mr. Tarman (Commissioner General Sutarman) was also included in the report on the implementation of tasks and duties that I had submitted so he could easily and immediately make connections and accelerate the implementation of those tasks that have not yet been finished," he said. Timur said one of the jobs that has not yet been completed regards cases of police shootings. He denied that different perceptions had occurred among elite police unit members in handling terrorism that might be considered as having been less responsive. "I do not think so. It has all been carried out well, from planning to real implementation by police units," he said. With regard to his achievements, General Timur Pradopo said there is still much to be done and he was optimistic that his replacement would be able to finish the tasks. Commissioner General Sutarman was officially appointed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the presidential palace on Friday. He was the only candidate that President Yudhoyono had submitted to the House of Representatives for approval. General Timur Pradopo is scheduled to officially handed over his post to Commissioner General Sutarman in a ceremony at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday.
