TNA, Thai universities to jointly introduce “Mass Comm on TV”

BANGKOK, May 28 (TNA) - Thai News Agency (TNA), under MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), which is a leading Thai media firm, has joined forces with universities nationwide to produce news reports and special reports, or scoops, for the TNA-initiated “Mass Comm on TV” Project, which was launched in November 2013. Wiroj Prakobphibul, TNA’s Executive Editor for Domestic News Department, who heads a task force to run the “Mass Comm on TV” Project, said on Wednesday that the change from the traditional analog to the digital broadcasting system in Thailand has currently opened more rooms for programmes to be on air and to be published and the “Mass Comm on TV” Project was, thus, launched. Under the the project, Wiroj noted, students of 44 allied universities nationwide are welcome to produce and present their news reports or scoops, with first news presentations to be broadcast or published on various media channels of TNA, MCOT's major news production arm, set in July 2014. Meanwhile, TNA held a meeting with representatives of eight universities in the Thai Northeast in Khon Kaen Province on Wednesday to discuss the universities' preparations for news and scoops production and presentation under the project. TNA will then hold meetings with southern and northern universities in Hat Yai of Songkhla Province and in Chiang Mai Province on June 11 and June 19 respectively. (TNA)
