Today is International Day of Families

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The International Day of Families is being marked by the Ministry of Population Development and Social Protection together with the National Authority for Children, here. For this celebration, an event of honor has been held at the Central Cultural Palace and the Minister S.Erdene has made an opening remark at the action. At the measure, officials of the Ministry are giving information relating to state policies on family and actions being carried out in frames of family support year. This day is proclaimed by the UN General Assembly proclaimed in 1993 with resolution A/RES/47/237 to reflect the importance the international community attaches to families. The first was observed on May 15, 1994.
