Top Chinese envoy meets Thai DPM

BANGKOK, October 8 (TNA) - Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Ning Fukui has paid a courtesy call on Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas between Beijing and Bangkok. General Prawit told journalists on Wednesday, after meeting the Chinese top envoy at the Ministry of Defence in Bangkok, that he discussed with the Chinese top envoy bilateral cooperation in all dimensions, particularly joint military exercises, in which Thailand has continually sent military personnel to study and to be trained in China. General Prawit said discussions were also focused on extending security cooperation, including exchanged visits by Thai and Chinese military leaders at all levels and intelligence sharing. The Thai deputy prime minister acknowledged that joint military drills and cooperation in the defence industry between Beijing and Bangkok have helped strengthen ties and sound understanding between the two allied countries.
