Topkapi Palace site visited most by tourists in 2011

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia Museum in Istanbul and the ruins of Ephesus were the top three sites visited most by tourists in 2011 in Turkey. According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 3.7 million tourists visited the Topkapi Palace while 3.1 million visited the Hagia Sophia Museum in Istanbul in 2011. 1.9 million tourists visited the ruins of Ephesus in 2011. Turkey earned approximately 253.8 million Turkish liras from museums in 2011.
